DEPARTMENT OF ANATOMY

The Department of Anatomy is the backbone of medical teaching. Anatomy, the study of the structure of the human body, is one of the most important courses in the education of physical therapist, nurses, dentistsand physicians. The department established in 2019,under the guidance of Dr. Sangeetha.K, is well equipped with all amenities, experienced faculty & supporting staff. The subject of Anatomy is fundamental for understanding other disciplines of medicine.

The department has a dissection hall where cadavers and prosecuted parts are available for demonstration to the students. The department has a well-equipped histology lab with good quality microscopes. Slides of various tissues and organs are available for study. Audio-visual aids such as overhead projectors and slide projectors are used in the department to facilitate reinforcement of knowledge. Participation in dissection cum discussion and learning of the undergraduates, active participation in small group teaching, demonstration of gross structures emphasizing their clinical relevance and an insight to cell biology, cytology, basic structure of tissues and organs and basic genetics..The facilities meet all the requirements of undergraduate teaching and learning as per the RGUHS curriculum.
